People trying to erase Bangabandhu's name thrown into dustbin: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday people, who wanted to erase the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the history, have been thrown into its dustbin, reports BSS.
He made the remark while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of an arts exhibition titled 'Joy Bangla Art Camp: Sonar Bangla in Thoughts of the Father' on the Public Library premises in the city.
Hasumonir Pathshala arranged the exhibition marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of the country's independence.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said many hatched conspiracies against Bangabandhu, but those who wanted to remove his name from the history have been thrown into its garbage.
He said children must know about Bangabandhu to advance themselves with the ideals of the Father of the Nation.
About the implementation of mega projects, the road transport and bridges ministry said the Padma Bridge, Metrorail (RMT-6) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel (Karnaphuli Tunnel) will be inaugurated this year.
He said Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has shown the world the country's ability by constructing the Padma Bridge with own funding.
"Not too late, our dream project -- Padma Bridge -- will be inaugurated within June this year. The Bangabandhu Tunnel will also be opened this year", he added.
