People wholeheartedly reject hartals, blockade: Hanif

KUSHTIA, Mar 9 (BSS): Joint General Secretary of Awami League Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif, MP, said on Monday they have nothing to worry as the people wholeheartedly rejected the hartals and blockade called by BNP-Jamaat alliance.

"We have nothing new to think as the countrymen rejected the hartal-blockade and it has proved once again no programme will be successful without people's participation," he said after inaugurating the agriculture fair as the chief guest at Collectrate Chattar in the district.

Replying to a query, he also said it would be impossible to continue anti-people programme by burning innocent people to death with petrol bomb attacks for a long period.

Asked about the arrest of fugitives under information communication technology act, he said, "It will not be easy to arrest anyone who announces programmes (hartal-blockade) issuing press release staying abroad."
