SAVAR, Nov 14 (BSS): Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina called upon the young government cadre service officials to serve the people, being imbued with the highest level of patriotism and rising above all sorts of party affiliation and opinion.
"You have been given appointment as officers of the republic so you have to work with utmost patriotism and dedication for the welfare of the people," she said.
The Prime Minister was addressing the closing function of the '44th Foundation Training Course' of cadre service officials at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) Saturday.
Finance Minister and Chairperson of Board of Governors of BPATC AMA Muhith and Adviser to the Prime Minister HT Imam, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
Rector of BPATC Md Delwar Hossain presided over the function.
A total of 233 trainees under 19 BCS cadre participated in the foundation-training course.
Referring to old mentality of some government officials in completing office works quickly, she asked them to speed up their activities in clearing files for the greater interest of the country.
Reminding the new cadre officers about the 'firm commandment of responsibility' the PM expressed her faith that the resilient and hard working Bangladeshi people would be able to make the 'impossible - a possible one' if they get proper help.
She said her government was pledge bound to turn Bangladesh into a 'digital nation' realising that without technological and up-to-date knowledge no one would be able to survive.
To this end support and contribution of the new generation civil officers was indispensable, the PM added.
Besides, she said the role of the civil administrators was important to achieve the government's aims and objectives.
