Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday reminded that the government would show zero-tolerance to those who would go for construction without following the building code of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (RAJUK), reports UNB.
She asked the RAJUK officials to be more careful and strict so none could construct buildings without respecting the building code.
Hasina gave the directives while chairing the first meeting of the National Disaster Management Council at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
"There will be no scope for building construction without following the building code," the Prime Minister said adding, "RAJUK officials should be more careful and strict in this regard."
Laying emphasis on creating mass awareness through mass media about earthquake, she also called for educating school and college students about the disaster and how to deal with the post-earthquake situation.
"We have to inform all about the devastating impact of earthquake, we can take the help of mass media for this," she said.
