PM pays homage to Bangabandhu

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Sunday paid rich tributes to father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in city on the occasion of 64th founding anniversary of Awami League (AL), reports UNB. After laying the wreath, the PM stood there in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of respect to the memory of the great leader. Flanked by senior leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait as the president of Bangladesh Awami League. Cabinet members including Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Agriculture Minister Motia Chowdhury, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, Land Minister Rezaul Karim Hira, Home Minister Dr Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad were present, among others, on the occasion. Besides, AL Advisory Council members Amir Hossain Amu and Tofail Ahmed, Presidium member Satish Chandra Roy were also present. Later, the PM inaugurated the day's programmes of the 64th Founding Anniversary of AL through hoisting National and Party flags and releasing pigeons there.
