PM places wreath at portrait of Bangabandhu

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Sunday morning placed wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi in the city on the occasion of historic 'Mujibnagar Day', reports BSS. The Prime Minister stood in solemn silence before the portrait for some time and placed wreath again as the president of Bangladesh Awami League along with the party leaders. On this day in 1971, the first government of independent Bangladesh took oath and started functioning at Baidyanathtala in Meherpur constituting the provisional government of independent Bangladesh.
