Police arrest two for 'bribing voters'

Law enforcers arrested two men on Monday for allegedly seeking vote in exchange for money ahead of the country's 11th general election.

The detective branch members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested the people-Shaheed, 52, and Mehedi, 45 from Shajahanpur area of the capital.

Police also seized Tk 0.4 million from the arrestees which, they admitted in primary investigation, kept for buying votes.

Earlier, police conducted a drive after being informed that some people were violating election campaign rules by offering money in the area and arrested them.
