Police said there is enough evidence to incriminate Bakhtiar Alam Rony for killing two people in a shooting in the city's New Eskaton, reports bdnews24.com.
They will have 'no problem' proving MP Pinu Khan's son guilty in court, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam.
"The material evidence and testimonies we have clearly prove that the two people who died at Eskaton were hit by bullets fired from Bakhtiar Alam Rony's pistol."
"He admitted to the shooting but refused to confess under Section 164," said the joint commissioner at a press conference on Wednesday.
Auto-rickshaw driver Yakub Ali and rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim died in the indiscriminate firing on April 14.
Rony is accused of firing from a black Land Cruiser Prado while under the 'influence of drugs'.
The vehicle is registered in his mother's name, who is also general secretary of Mahila Awami League, the ruling party's women front.
He fired because he was irritated by a light traffic snarl, his friend who was in the car with him told court.
