Police nab 11 BNP men for \\\'vote-buying\\\'

Police arrested 11 BNP activists in separate incidents on charges of their alleged involvement in trying to buy votes in favour of BNP-supported candidates, reports UNB.
They were detained from different areas in the city on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.
Paltan thana police arrested Shantinagar kitchen market Jubo Dal unit president Abu Sufian and a member of Laxmipur district Jamaat member Abu Taleb from Paltan area at about 3:00 pm.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Paltan thana Morshed Alam said they were arrested on charges of trying to buy votes in favour of BNP-backed mayoral candidate for Dhaka South CC Mirza Abbas.
A team of Mirpur thana police arrested BNP activist Sharmin Akhtar along with her 5 associates from Ahmednagar of Pikepara under city on charges of trying to buy votes on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday night, police arrested three BNP men from different areas.
