CHITTAGONG, Jan 18 (UNB): The police arrested 12 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) along with arms and explosives from a building at Mistripara in Agrabad commercial area of the port city early Monday.
They were identified as Dr Ekramul Haq, Mohiuddin, Mohammad Ekramul, Al Ameen, Mizanur Rahman, Jahiruddin Babar, Lutfor Rahman, Montasir, Rafiqul Hossain, Manjur Hossain, Abid Hossain and Golam Azam Abbasi.
Acting on secret information, the police raided a high-rise building of the area and arrested the ICS activists along with four revolvers, three LGs, half-kg bomb-making powder, 11 cartridges and 26 bullets, Double Mooring police said.
"In preliminary investigation it was found that these arms were stored for committing crime," said one spokesman of the police.
