Police-people participatory initiative for building crime-free society stressed

RANGPUR, Oct 3 (BSS): Participatory initiatives with cooperative attitudes of the police and the people are seen vital for making the ongoing community policing movement successful.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Rajshahi range of Police AKM Shahidul Haque said this while speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchanging meeting here Tuesday.
Taraganj Thana Committee of Community Policing organised the meeting at Taraganj Chowpodi Bus Stand.
The DIG said mutual cooperation and trusts between the police and the people can help build a crime-free peaceful society and the on-going community policing activities might play the most important role in this connection and reduce the gap in police-people relationship.
Among others, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Taraganj police station Shamsul Haque, Principal of Taraganj Degree College and President of Thana Committee of Community Policing Nimai Chandra Roy, Member Secretary Mahbub Rahman and Member Joynal Abedin were present at the meeting.
Members of all wards, Union Parishad and thana level committees of community policing of Taraganj Upazila and hundreds of common people took part in the meeting.
The DIG called upon members of the civil society, professionals, public representatives and common people to make the ongoing community policing activities successful everywhere in Rajshahi Division through spontaneous participation of all to root out all sorts of crimes from society.
