Police recover madrasa student's body in Ctg dormitory

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 10 (UNB): A madrasa student was found dead at the hostel of an educational institution at Nayabazar in the port city on Sunday night.

The dead is Shahriar Alam (12), a student of Nahadatul Umme Madrasah and son of Shahin Alam.

Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Halishahar thana, said the madrasah authorities claimed they found Shahriar hanging in a toilet of the dormitory and later they took him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in the night.

On information, police recovered the body from the hospital around 11:45 pm, the OC said, adding that they were investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Shahriar's mother alleged his son was beaten to death.
