Police will act as per EC's directives: DMP addl commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Kha Mohid Uddin said on Thursday they are now under the Election Commission (EC) as per the constitution and would act as per the commission's directives.

"As per the constitution, we (police) are now under the Election Commission and we will act as per their (EC) wishes," he told the media at a press briefing at the media centre of DMP in the capital.

He said police will act whatever is necessary at different levels and different times during the upcoming national elections.

He also said they will ensure security at every level in line with the directives from the EC during the polls.
