Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said Bangladesh Police has been working to ensure sustainable security in the country, reports BSS.

Appreciating the overall security arrangements taken by police, he said, "We all are working for implementation of the sustainable development goal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

And the prerequisite for the sustainable development is 'sustainable security' for which police force is working."

Kamal said Sarodio Durgo Utsab is going on across the country and in Dhaka city many puja mandaps are now crowded with worshippers.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken appropriate measures to ensure the overall security of the large gatherings at puja mandaps, he said.

The minister visited Tejgaon Sarbojanin Puja Mandap, Media Para Puja Mandap at Karwan Bazar, Shahinbagh Sarbojanin Puja Mandap at Civil Aviation under Tejgaon and Sri Sri Radhakrishna Mandir premises and Sri Sri Radhakrishna and Matree Mondir at Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University and monitored security arrangements.

The home minister and DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam delivered speeches and exchanged views with the devotees.

"The DMP commissioner is a smart, efficient and patriotic police officer. Around 170 million people are living in the country and of them, 20 million are in Dhaka.

If the law and order situation in Dhaka is good, then the law and order situation in Bangladesh is good. And the DMP commissioner is carrying out this difficult task very efficiently," the minister said.

Kamal further said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is materializing the dream of Bangabandhu as his successor, which he could not implement.
