Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) ATM Shamsul Huda said the political parties must apply for registration with the Commission within October 15 for contesting the upcoming parliamentary polls to be held on December 18, reports UNB/bdnews24.com.
"Those who want to participate in the parliamentary polls on December 18 have to apply for registration with the Election Commission within October 15," Dr Shamsul Huda told journalists replying to a question at the EC secretariat Tuesday, a day after the caretaker government approved relaxed registration rules.
Dr Shamsul Huda said the commission would not extend the timeframe for party registration, as the parliamentary elections would be held in December as per the declared date. "There's no chance of extending the timeframe for party registration."
