Poll expenditure within limit: Annisul Huq

Dhaka north city chief said though there were some minor flaws in recently held city polls, his election expenditure was within the stipulated limit, reports BSS.

"I do not know on which basis the TIB prepared the report. However, my election expenditure was within the limit," Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Annisul Huq said.

He made the comment in reply to a question on a report of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) after the inauguration of a campaign of Action Aid titled 'Safe City, Women Without Fear' at Chhayanat Bhaban in the city's Dhanmondi.

He said development work is going on in the city and there will be a huge change in next one to two years.

The playgrounds in the city would be freed from illegal occupation soon, the mayor asserted.

Earlier, the Action Aid campaign for safe city for women was inaugurated in Dhaka along with 20 cities in the world.
