MANIKGANJ, Nov. 23 (BSS): Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e- Islami Prof Mia Golam Parwar has said the next general election should be held at logical time after necessary reforms.
"Fascism ended and the mass people of the country achieved their independence through anti- discrimination student movement... Now we expect a free, fair and credible election within a legitimate timeframe," he said.
He further said but the next general election must be held after necessary reforms of civil and police administration, Election Commission and the bureaucracy as expected by the people.
Parwar, a former member of parliament (MP), was addressing a party workers' conference of the district at the Manikganj Government High School Play Ground on Saturday.
Chaired by Jamaat-e- Islami Central Maslish-e Shura member and Manikganj District Ameer Hafez Maulana Md Quamrul Islam, the conference was addressed by Central Executive Committee Member Muhammad Izzat Ullah, team member of the same area Maulana Muhammad Delwar Hossain, former Central Committee President Md. Zahidur Rahman and local leaders, among others.
