President for extending army medical service to remote areas

President M Zillur Rahman emphasised on extending medical services of Bangladesh Army to the country's rural areas, reports UNB.
The President made the remarks when Army Chief of Staff General M Abdul Mubeen called on him at Bangabhaban Tuesday.
The Army chief apprised the president about present activities of the Army, particularly the six-week long winter exercise.
General Mubeen said during the winter exercise, different units of Army will be scattered in remote areas where they would provide treatment for all classes of the people at army mobile hospitals. He said, last year the army had conducted some critical operations.
The President lauded the activities of the Army and emphasised on further extension of such activities to the remote areas.
General Mubeen informed the President about the role of Bangladesh Army in the UN Peacekeeping Mission.
The President said Bangladesh secured the top position by sending highest number of troops to the UN Peacekeeping Mission. "It is a matter of pride for the country," he said.
