President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina joined the 'Akheri Munajat' from Bangabhaban and Gonobhaban respectively, reports BSS.
The President along with officials and staff of Bangabhaban joined the prayer from Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban through digital screens as the prayer was telecast live from Tongi.
The first phase of the Muslims' annual congregation - the second largest after Hajj ended Sunday with millions of devotees from home and abroad taking part in the 'Akheri Munajat' at Tongi on the outskirts of capital Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers) of Biswa Ijtema as the first phase of the world's largest Muslim congregation after the holy Hajj ended on the bank of the river Turag at the suburban Tongi.
From her official residence Gonobhaban, the PM took part in the munajat.
