President to hold talks with parties from Dec 22

President Zillur Rahman will start dialogue with political parties on December 22 for taking their opinions about the appointment of the next chief and other election commissioners.
"The dialogue will begin at Bangabhaban at 11 am on December 22," President's Press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan told BSS Sunday.
He said the President will sit with Jatiya Party (Ershad) at 11 am and Jatiya Samajtantric Dal at 12 pm on the first day.
"Two invitation letters have been sent to the two political parties from Bangabhaban at 6 pm today," Bhuiyan said.
In the invitation letter, the President requested the political parties to join in the dialogue with a delegation comprising not more than 10 members to learn their opinions before giving appointments for key posts in Election Commission (EC).
The letters have been issued to secretary general of Jatiya Party Ruhul Amin Hawlader and general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Sharif Nurul Ambia.
The tenure of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) ATM Shamsul Huda and Election Commissioner M Sohul Hussein will expire on February 04, with the completion of their five-year term. Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain will retire on February 14.
