Awami League-backed Gonotantrik Oikya Parishad swept the registered graduate representatives' poll to Dhaka University (DU) Senate, reports BSS.
After count of the votes of all centres, DU pro-vice chancellor (Academic) Nasrin Ahmad announced the result on Sunday, said a press release.
Candidates from the Gonotantrik Oikya Parishad bagged 24 seats out of 25 posts while Jatiyatabadi Parishad got only one post. The other panel Pragati Parishad could not manage any post in the election.
Elected members from Gonotantrik Oikya Parishad are Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan (12,967 votes), A S M Maksud Kamal (12,046 votes), M Farid Uddin (11,968 votes), A R M Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul (11,924 votes), S M Bahalul Majnun (11,596 votes), Muhammad Abdus Samad (11,568 votes), Zainat Huda (11,557 votes), Asim Sarkar (11,335 votes), M Iqbal Arslan (11,202 votes), Sadeka Halim (11,167 votes), Mahfuza Khanam (11,120 votes), Tazin Aziz Chowdhury (11,085), Emran Kabir Chowdhury (11,033 votes), A H M Enamul Haque Chowdhury (10,924 votes), Md Liaquat Hossain Morol (10,838 votes), Md Alauddin (10,786 votes), Syed Humayun Akter (10,739 votes), Ramendu (Krishna) Majumdar (10,681 votes), A B M Badruddoza (10, 672 votes), Nizam Chowdhury (voted 10,528), Md Abdul Aziz (voted 10,512), Mohammad Abdul Bari (10,452 votes), Ranjit Kumar Saha (9, 967 votes) and Md Nasir Uddin (votes 9,818 votes) The only elected representative from Jatiyatabadi Parishad is AFM Yusuf Haider (10,500 votes).
