Pro-BNP teacher Selim Bhuiyan arrested

Police have arrested Selim Bhuiyan, leader of a pro-BNP professionals' group, reports bdnews24.com.

Jatrabari Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abani Shankar did not disclose the charges against Shikkhak-Karmachari Oikya Jote chairman Selim Saturday.

General secretary of the organisation Jakir Hossain said Selim was picked up from the A K Degree College at Shanir Akhra.

Selim was at an inter-active meeting with the students at the time of his arrest, he said.

Meanwhile, police in Chuadanga arrested the district unit chief of BNP, Ohidul Islam Biswas, and local Olama Dal Convener Anwar Hossain.

Ohidul was arrested for allegedly carrying out a bomb attack on a police vehicle and instigating vandalism on a truck, SP Rashidul Hasan said.
