Promotions, changes in Army command

The Bangladesh Army has promoted three Brigadier Generals to the rank of Major Generals and made changes in five key positions, including the SSF and 9th Division, official sources confirmed to UNB Thursday.
The newly promoted Maj Generals are Sheikh Mohammad Aman Hasan, NDU, Abdul Qadir and AKM Abdur Rahman, said the sources speaking on condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the issue.
Maj Gen Aman Hasan has been made Director General of the Special Security Forces (SSF) replacing Maj Gen Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi, Bir Bikram, ndc, psc, who has been made General Officer Commanding of the 9th Infantry Division, said the sources.
Maj Gen Abdul Qadir is the new Commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factories and another upgraded officer Maj Gen AKM Abdur Rahman, ndc, psc, has been made military secretary of the Army Headquarters.
Maj Gen KM Mominur Rahman, psc, has been transferred from the 9th Division to become Quartermaster General of Army Headquarters.
Maj Gen Abul Hosen, ndc, psc, who served as Commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factories, has moved to Commandant of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).
Former GOC of the 66th Infantry Division Maj Gen Sabbir Ahmed, ndc, psc, has been placed in the 24th Infantry Division as GOC and former military secretary Maj Gen Sala Uddin Miazi, psc, has been made GOC of the 66th Infantry Division.
