Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday urged the party leaders and activists to get prepared to resist all the plots being hatched against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.
"My leader (Sheikh Hasina) has been given death threat. Will we sit idle at home?" he questioned while speaking at a meeting held at the AL central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
The ruling Awami League organized the discussion, marking the historic Six-Point Day.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban in the city.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said: "Let's make the hands of the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu (Sheikh Hasina) stronger aiming to fulfill his dream. Let's shatter the altar of conspiracy hatched against the country".
Asking the AL men to be imbued with the spirit of the Six-Point and the Liberation War, he said the country's people have full confidence in the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
"We all should get ready. We do not leave the streets. We called a programme across the country on June 4 last, protesting the indecent remarks made against our party chief...this demonstration was staged up to union parishad level," the AL general secretary said.
