Communications Minister Obaidul Quader urged BNP to stay away from 'false politics', otherwise they would not be successful in the movement, report agencies.

Amid frequent threats by BNP to launch an oust-government movement afresh, The minister said there is nothing to be worried or panicked about it.

"I'm not worried about BNP's movement threat. There's no reason to be afraid of. BNP has proved that it's a party that only can roar," he said.

Quader, also the presidium member of ruling Awami League (AL), said this while addressing a discussion organised by Awami Juba League at Bangabandhu Avenue marking the 65th birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

BNP has got unnerved as its movement lost the direction, Mr Quader said adding that its movement has got stuck in quicksand.

He said AL would overcome any obstacle through politics under Sheikh Hasina's leadership.

About observing the National Mourning Day, the Minister urged the Juba League leaders and activists not to collect money from people outside the party on the occasion.

"It doesn't need much money to observe the National Mourning Day. We wouldn't collect money from outside as we ourselves will contribute," he added.

With Awami Juba League Chairman M Omar Faruque Chowdhury in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Awami Juba League general secretary M Harun-ur-Rashid, Presidium member Shahid Serniyabat, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, Mahbubur Rahman Hiron, Advocate M Belal Hossen, organising secretary Asadul Haq Asad, Dhaka city (North) unit president Mainul Hossen Khan Nikhil and acting general secretary Tasbirul Haq Anu.
