Quader warns BNP against anarchy over court verdict

Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader said on Thursday a befitting reply will be given if BNP carries out anarchy over the verdict of cases against the party's chairperson Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.

"The government has nothing to do, if the court does not grant bail to Khaleda Zia. If BNP carries out anarchy centring the verdict, a befitting reply will be given," he said.

The AL leader came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after paying tributes to Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy by placing a wreath, on behalf of the AL, at the legendary politician's grave on Dhaka University campus marking his death anniversary.

He said Suhrawardy had struggled for democracy throughout his entire life. His extraordinary leadership qualities had shown the nation the right path, he added.

Quader said the unparallel leader had great contributions to the struggle for establishing democracy, justice and the rule of law.

Awami League is still following the ideals of Suhrawardy to give institutional shape to democracy, he added.
