Quader's comment part of AL bluprint against BNP: Rizvi

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday said the comment made by Awami League (AL) leader Obaidul Quader was part of a deep-seated conspiracy against the BNP.
On December 30, the AL general secretary said the BNP was on a silent-killing mission ahead of the January 07 election having failed to reap the benefits of its anti-government movement.
Citing the comments as "a deep-rooted conspiracy and a blueprint of the ruling party", Mr Rizvi said the AL was doing ill politics of shifting blame for its misdeeds on others.
"The statement made by Obaidul Quader against the BNP is heinous, condemnable and void of political etiquette," he added.
The BNP senior joint secretary general made the comments in a media statement issued on the English New Year's Day.
"The AL has the history of committing silent killing, abduction and violence. People know it very well which party closed almost all newspapers of the country and silenced people's freedom of expression."
The BNP believes democracy and people's rights to express their opinions, Mr Rizvi asserts, saying that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman helped restore democracy in the country.
Those involved in the politics of silent killing and abduction are used to utter the same things, according to the statement.
"For this reason, Obaidul Quader has divulged his party's blueprint of silent killing. Otherwise, how does he (Obaidul Quader) know that BNP will carry out silent killing?"
"BNP has a huge public support base. It has ruled the country four times by taking people's mandate. The party will come to power again if the election is held under a caretaker government."
Mr Rizvi accused the government of killing 27 persons during their recent anti-government movement.
