Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam blamed BNP for the ongoing incidents of abduction and secret killing and said this is the new model of movement of Khaleda Zia's party, reports UNB.
"Killing and abduction are the characteristics of their (BNP) new model of movement. They've launched a new chapter of conspiracy with this. They always want to proceed with new charisma, but fail always," the minister said this while addressing a discussion on "Bangabandhu and Bangladesh" organised by Bangamata Sheikh Fajilatunnesa Mujib Parishad at the Liberation War Museum in the city Saturday.
Awami League Dhaka city unit organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad spoke at the programme held with Bangamata Sheikh Fajilatunnesa Mujib Parishad president Prof Abdul Mannan Chowdhury in the chair.
Advocate Quamrul came up with the blame against BNP at a time when the country, particularly the port city of Narayanganj, is reeling under abduction panic.
Over the last week, eight people were abducted from Narayanganj. Later the bodies of eight people were found in the Shitalakkhya and Dhaleswari rivers. Another businessman Saiful Islam, was released at Savar in the early hours of Saturday, 26 hours after his abduction from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj.
