RAB arrest nine robbers

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested nine members of an inter-district robber gang.

RAB-1 commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Momen disclosed it to the media at the elite force's media centre at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Monday.

He said that a team of RAB arrested them from the Gacha area in Gazipur district on Sunday night.

He said that local and foreign-made arms were also recovered from them.

The names of the arrestees are Md Shahidul Islam, Md Aynal Mia, Md Anju Mia, Md Azizul Islam, Uzzal Chandra Mohanto, Md Shaheen, Md Roni, Md Shaheed and Mohammad Abdul Hakim.

The RAB official further said that the arrestees were preparing for committing robbery ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

He said that the arrestees were used to commit two to three robberies in a month.
