Rahmatullah sworn in as lawmaker

Newly elected parliament member AKM Rahmatullah from Dhaka-11 constituency took oath at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on Sunday, reports BSS.

JS Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP administered the oath to Rahmatullah at her office in Parliament Bhaban, an official release said.

JS Senior Secretary Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath taking ceremony.

Kazi Firoz Rashid MP, Rustam Ali Farazi MP, Pir Fazlur Rahman MP and Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary MP, were present on the occasion.

The 11th national election was held on December 30 in 299 seats out of total 300 as the voting in Gaibandha-3 constituency was suspended due to death of a candidate earlier.

However, the results of Brahmanbaria-2 constituency was postponed as voting in three centres of the constituency was suspended.
