Tickets for rail travel is not only given to VIPs but provided to all passengers in critical need, said Railways Minister Mujibul Haque said on Monday, report agencies.
About harassment of ticket seekers at the station during Eid, Mr Hoque said the ticket selling process will be made more digitalised in the future to ensure hassle-free ticket collection.
Asked about black-marketing of train tickets, the minister said, "We have got no complaint yet over black marketing of train tickets."
"Law enforcers have been put on vigil to check black marketing of tickets. No one, even the railway employees, will be spared if found involved in black marketing of train tickets," he warned.
He denied charges that VIPs are often provided tickets beyond their assigned quota of five percent of the total tickets on offer.
"There is no chance of that," he said.
