Rajshahi BNP for withdrawal of cases against its leaders

RAJSHAHI, Oct 12 (BSS): Local unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) here today called for withdrawal of cases pending against its leaders immediately so that they could participate in the forthcoming Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections.
"We want to participate in the elections as we believe in democracy but want congenial atmosphere to participate in it," it further said and demanded creation of an atmosphere so that participation of all political leaders is ensured properly.
"None should be kept outside the elections," the party leaders said while addressing the protest meeting arranged at Zila Parishad auditorium as part of the nationwide programme.
BNP Joint-Secretary General Goyeshwar Chandra Roy addressed the meeting as the chief guest with district unit president Azizur Rahman in the chair. He called upon the party leaders and workers to be united for strengthening the party through removing all sorts of internal conflicts.
Among others, former MPs Shajahan Miah, Harunur Rashid and Dr Abdus Saleque, local BNP leaders Advocate Ekhalque Hossain, Advocate Quamrul Monir and Jubo Dal leader Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul also addressed the meeting attended by a large number of leaders and workers of the party and its front organisations.
