The verdict in the much-talked-about Ramna Batamul blast case will be delivered on June 16, reports UNB.
Dhaka's Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions' Judge M Ruhul Amin fixed the date on Wednesday after the defence completed placing arguments.
Fresh arguments in the sensational case began on May 8 following a gross mistake made by the stateside in placing the documentary evidence in the court.
The blast that took place during Pahela Baishakh celebrations of Chhayanaut on April 14 in 2001 left 10 people dead and scores of others injured.
After the incident, Babupura Police outpost sergeant Amal Kumar Chanda filed two cases with the Ramna thana.
Over seven and half years after the Ramna bloodbath, the Criminal Investigation Department on November 30, 2008, pressed charges against 14 operatives of banned Islamist outfit Harkatul Jihad Al Islami (Huji), including its chief Mufti Abdul Hannan.
The court framed charges against them on April 16, 2009.
The other charge-sheeted accused are Arif Hasan Suman alias Abdur Razzak, Maulana Akbar Hossain alias Helaluddin, Shahadat Ullah alias Jewel, Maulana Abu Taher, Maulana Abdur Rauf, Maulana Mohammad
Tajuddin, Maulana Abdul Hannan Sabbir, Maulana Shawkat Osman alias
Sheikh Farid, Hafez Jahangir Alam Badar, Maulana Abu Bakar alias Selim Hawlader, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman, Maulana Yahiya and Mufti Abdul Hye.
Of them, Mufti Hannan, Sumon, Shahadat, Abu Taher, Abdur Rauf, Sabbir, Shawkat, Maulana Akbar and Yahiya are behind the bars while Tajuddin, Jahangir, Abu Bakar, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Hye on the run.
