Rangpur-6 by-polls on Feb 20

The by-polls in Rangpur-6 constituency will be held on February 20, according to sources at the Election Commission. They said the Election Commission is most likely to announce the schedule Sunday. The by-polls are going to be held in the seat as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was elected from Gopalganj-3 and Rangpur-6 constituencies in the January 5 parliamentary Elections, vacated the Rangpur-6. According to the sources, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is January 27, while January 28 has been fixed for the scrutiny of nomination papers. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 3, according to a news agency.
