A senior Awami League (AL) leader Suranjit Sengupta advised BNP leaders to put their house in order before contemplating to launch a movement against the government, reports bdnews24.com.
Referring to media reports about BNP's threat to start movement in the run up to January 5 elections , he told a discussion Monday that he wondered how a party, which get 'overwhelmed by rebels' as soon as any committee was formed, could think of launching a movement.
"Regroup your party first, handle frustrations. Then think about a movement," Suranjit said addressing Khaleda Zia.
On Sunday, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia called on supporters to unite for the upcoming movement and said she too would be on the streets.
Suranjit shot back at Khaleda saying: "January will come and go. BNP will not be given the chance to hold a movement. The party, which is besieged by dissidents, cannot do a movement."
