‘Robbers’ shoot dead BCL leader in Sylhet

A BCL leader has died in Sylhet's Balaganj after being shot by robbers, reports bdnews24.com.
Two more people were injured in the incident that took place in the house of Surman Ali in Champarkandi village early Sunday, said Balaganj Police Station OC Gazi Ataur Rahman.
The man has been identified as Shahab Uddin, the organising secretary of Dewan Bazar Union Chhatra League and son of Surman Ali.
According to the victim's family, a group of robbers raided Surman Ali's house. Shahab ran to the spot and got into a fight with the robbers upon hearing his family members screaming.
At one point, the robbers attacked him with sharp weapons and shot him.
Shahab's father and brother were injured in the incident. They were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, said OC Ataur Rahman.
