Role of Bangamata recalled

Speakers at a discussion paid glowing tributes Friday to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib recalling her crucial and prudent 'behind-the-scenes' role in all activities of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and movement for nation's independence, reports BSS.
Awami League (AL), its associate bodies and different like-minded organisations paid rich tributes to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib by placing wreaths at the Banani graveyard in the city Friday on the occasion of her 84th birth anniversary.
Quran Khwani, Milad and Doa Mahfil were also held on the occasion praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangamata terming her as one of the most courageous, intelligent, dedicated, loving and affectionate lady of the national history.
AL Advisory Council Member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Presidium Member and Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Khaled Mahmud Chowdhury, Information and Research Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Publicity and Publication Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil and central committee member Aminul Islam Amin, among others, were present during that time.
The speakers said the history would certainly value the contribution of the highly politically conscious and great patriotic lady along with remembering Bangabandhu as the architect of independent Bangladesh.
Terming Bangamata Fazilatunnesa as one of the most courageous, intelligent, dedicated, loving and affectionate lady of the national history, they said she had immense contribution to the politics of Bangabandhu and   AL.
