Independent lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-2 Rumeen Farhana on Wednesday called for the Bangladesh-US trade agreement signed during the Prof Muhammad Yunus-led interim government to be tabled in Parliament for discussion, reports UNB.

Rumeen spoke on the point of order after Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's question-and-answer session at parliament.

She further said that there had been objections at the time, as the agreement signed before the elections included clauses that were not in Bangladesh's interest.

She also added that the government has the option to cancel the agreement within 60 days if it chooses to do so.
