Sahara orders probe into secret killings

Law enforcing agencies have been investigating into the secret killings in different parts of the country as reported by the media, reports UNB. "The law enforcing agencies have been investigating every allegation of secret killing," Home Minister Sahara Khatun said while briefing reporters at her office Wednesday about the security measures being taken for Bishwa Ijtema beginning on January 21. Replying to a question she said law enforcers start investigation whenever remains of any victims of secret killing are found. The home minister claimed that overall law and order situation in the country 'is good' except some sporadic incidents. Sahara said all out steps were being taken for the security of devotees attending the Biswa Ijtema. Bishaw Ijtema beginning on January 21, on the bank of Turag River in Tongi, will be held in two phases this year. Sate minister for Home Samsul Alam Tuku, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandakar, Director General of RAB, Mokhselur Rahman, Home secretary and senior security officials were present at the briefing.
