Saki to step down as Ganosanghati chief

Zonayed Saki is set to step down from his role as the chief coordinator of Ganosanghati Andolon, the party confirmed, reports bdnews24.com.
On Friday, Bachchu Bhuiyan, a member of the party's central executive committee, said a media briefing will be held at its central office in the capital's Hatirpool today (Saturday) to officially announce its new leader.
"'The chief coordinator is leaving his post. Who will take over the helm will be known on Saturday,' he added."
Saki, along with Executive Coordinator Abul Hassan Rubel and political council members including Taslima Akhter and Firoz Ahmed, is expected to attend the briefing.
Ganosanghati Andolon began its journey on August 29, 2002.
It formally launched as a political party during its third national representative conference in November 2016.
At that time, Saki was appointed chief coordinator, a position he has held since.
The party secured official registration from the Election Commission on September 17, 2024, following a lengthy legal process.
