Awami League (AL) advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta said on Wednesday Salahuddin Ahmed went into hiding at the directive of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.
"Khaleda Zia wanted to carry out massive firebomb attacks and to create anarchy on the plea of Salahuddin's forced disappearance after sending him into hiding," he said while addressing as the chief guest a discussion marking the death anniversary of noted nuclear scientist Dr M Wazed Miah at the auditorium of the Institute of Diploma Engineers in the city.
"Like Salahuddin, missing BNP leaders Elias Ali and Chowdhury Alam are now in self confinement at the order of Khaleda Zia," he said, adding that self-confinement and forced disappearance are not the similar things.
"Order from the party or party chief may lead to such self-confinement," said Suranjit.
