Salman, Anisul, ex-MP Solaiman, six others on remand

A Dhaka court has placed seven people including Salman F Rahman, former private industry affairs adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and former law minister Anisul Huq on a two-day remand each in a case lodged over the murder of autorickshaw driver Hafizul

during the student-led July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

The others who were put on reman are Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Dr Dipu Moni, Atiqul Islam, AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and Golam Sarwar Pintu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order on Monday as police produced the seven accused before the court with a five-day remand prayer each in the case lodged with the capital's Badda Police Station.

Meanwhile, a Dhaka court has placed former lawmaker Solaiman Salim and former ward councillor Ranjan Biswas on a two-day remand each in a case lodged over attempt to murder varsity student Anik during the student- led July-August mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order on Monday as police

produced seven accused before the court and pleaded to place them on a five- day remand each.
