Sayeedi shifted to Dhaka Central Jail after check-up

Lifer war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayeedi was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail after a sudden medical check-up at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) early Monday, reports UNB.

Dhaka central jail sources said Sayeedi, who was under the custody of Kashimpur High Security Prison, felt pain in the chest Sunday night.

He was rushed to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital.

Later, Sayeedi was taken to BSMMU for medical check-up around 3:25 am Monday.

He was sent back to Dhaka Central Jail around 5:00 am.

On September 17, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court reduced the death penalty of war crimes convict Delwar Hossain Sayedee - earlier handed down by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 -- to life imprisonment.
