SC hearing on Ghulam Azam appeal Dec 2

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) will hear on December 2 the appeal filed by convicted war criminal Ghulam Azam against the verdict sentencing the nonagenarian retired Jamaat-e-Islami ameer to 90 years in jail unto death for his crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, reports UNB.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain fixed the date at a hearing on the appeal Wednesday.
On July 15, 2013, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) sentenced Ghulam Azam to 90 years jail term unto death for abetting atrocities during the war of independence against Pakistan.
