SC scraps bail of suspended mayor

The Appellate Division on Sunday cancelled the six-month High Court bail of suspended Shahjadpur municipality mayor Halimul Haque Miru over Daily Samakal's Shahjadpur correspondent Abdul Hakim Shimul murder, reports UNB.

A four-member bench led by Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order after hearing a leave-to-appeal petition.

The SC also asked the lower court of Sirajganj to dispose of the case within six months.
