The Supreme Court (SC) stayed Tuesday the High Court (HC) order halting a corruption case filed by the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) against detained controversial businessman Giasuddin Al Mamun on charges of amassing huge wealth through illegal means.
A seven-member full court of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice M Ruhul Amin passed the order following an application filed by the ACC, reports UNB.
The SC order facilitates the ACC to go with the case proceedings against Mamun.
On another application filed by the ACC, the Supreme Court also stayed the HC order in connection with a corruption case faced by industrialist Salman F Rahman.
