The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) stayed Tuesday the bail earlier granted by the High Court (HC) to Sohel Rana, main accused in the Rana Plaza collapse case.

Earlier on March 23, 2014, the HC granted bail to Sohel Rana for six months in the case filed by the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) over the 2013 Rana Plaza collapse.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and deputy attorney general Masud Hasan appeared for the government in the court Tuesday.
On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza that had housed, among others, several garment factories in Savar collapsed, killing over one thousand people.
After the tragedy, the Rajuk filed the case with Savar model police station in this connection.
