SCBA new president asked not to take charge


The Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF) has requested the newly elected SCBA President, Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokan, not to assume his post.
Khokan was elected as President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) for the 2024-2025 sessions from BJAF, a group of pro-BNP lawyers supported panel.
It also requested Md Shafiqul Islam, Fatima Akter and Syed Fazle Elahi who were elected for the posts of Executive Member of the organization from the panel to act same way.
BJAF's central committee's President AJ Mohammad Ali and Secretary General Barrister Kayser Kamal made the appeal to the elected leaders by issuing a letter on Wednesday.
Election result showed that a total of 10 candidates including Secretary from the Awami League supported panel and four candidates including President from the BNP supported panel won in the Supreme Court Bar Association election.
