Section 144 imposed in Pabna town

PABNA, Apr 30 (UNB): District administration imposed section 144 in the town Friday as district unit Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami League (AL) called separate meetings at the same time in the town.
It was clamped at midnight as Jamaat-e-Islami called a meeting at the district Town Hall at 9:00am and AL was scheduled to hold a rally at Daibazar crossing in the district town at the same time.
Later, when Jamaat-e-Islami tried to hold their programme on the Rajarpur playground, on the outskirts of the town, the police charged baton on its activists to foil the programme, leaving 20 injured.
