Section 144 in Sharishabari

JAMALPUR, Apr 27 (UNB): A BNP-backed organisation failed to hold its scheduled meeting at Ghoramara Bazar in Sharishabari Upazila Tuesday due to imposition of Section 144 by local administration.
Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder Smrity Sangsad, a BNP-backed organisation, on April 20 announced its workers' meeting at the venue at 3:00pm Tuesday.
The ruling Awami League (AL)-backed Advocate Motiar Rahman Talukder Smrity Sangsad later announced its workers' meeting at the venue at the same time.
As a result, Upazila administration imposed Section 144 in and around the venue from 6:00am to 6:00pm Tuesday to avert any untoward situation.
Both the groups failed to hold their respective meetings.
